ICFRE Recruitment 2024: Available Positions and Project Descriptions

Junior Project Fellow (JPF) – Green Belt Development Around the Ash Pond Area at Koderma Thermal Power Station

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Emoluments: ₹24,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2028
  • Essential Qualifications: Candidates should hold a 1st class M.Sc. degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Life Science, Remote Sensing, or GIS.
  • Desirable Qualifications: At least one year of relevant research experience in forestry or environmental sciences. Candidates with knowledge of MS Office, data entry, and statistics will be given preference.
  • Project Overview: This project focuses on the development of green belts around the ash pond area of the Koderma Thermal Power Station through forestry interventions. The aim is to mitigate the environmental impacts of industrial operations and restore degraded landscapes.

Junior Project Fellow (JPF) – Rehabilitation of 40-hectare Mined-out Area of Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mine

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Emoluments: ₹24,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2029
  • Essential Qualifications: A 1st class M.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science Specialization), Forestry, Life Science, or Environmental Science is required.
  • Project Overview: This project aims to rehabilitate a 40-hectare mined-out area through forestry interventions. It is designed to restore the ecological balance and promote sustainable land use in an area degraded by iron ore mining activities.

Junior Project Fellow (JPF) – Preparation of Forest Soil Health Cards under the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP-22)

  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Emoluments: ₹24,000/- per month (Fixed)
  • Project Duration: 2019–2025
  • Essential Qualifications: Candidates must have a 1st class M.Sc. in Geo-informatics, Remote Sensing, GIS, Environmental Science, Botany, Forestry, or Computer Science.
  • Project Overview: This ongoing project is designed to develop forest soil health cards that provide critical data about the soil conditions of different forest regions in India. The cards are intended to assist in better forest management practices.

Project Assistant (PA) – Eco-restoration of Mined-out Overburden Areas through Miyawaki Plantation at Amrapali Mine, CCL Ranchi

  • Number of Posts: 02
  • Emoluments: ₹19,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2028
  • Essential Qualifications: Applicants must possess a 1st class B.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science Specialization), Forestry, Life Science, or Environmental Science.
  • Project Overview: This project seeks to restore degraded lands through the innovative Miyawaki plantation method, which involves planting dense, native forests that grow faster than traditional methods.

Field Assistant (FA) – Green Belt Development Around the Ash Pond Area at Koderma Thermal Power Station

  • Emoluments: ₹17,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2028
  • Essential Qualifications: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with 1st division in Science.
  • Project Overview: Field assistants will assist in various activities related to green belt development at the Koderma Thermal Power Station, contributing to the ecological sustainability of the area.

Field Assistant (FA) – Rehabilitation of the 40-Hectare Mined-out Area of Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mine

  • Emoluments: ₹17,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2029
  • Essential Qualifications: A 1st division in 10+2 with Science is required.
  • Project Overview: The selected field assistants will work on ground-level interventions to help rehabilitate the mined-out area of the Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mine.

Junior Project Fellow (JPF) – Standardization of Eco-rehabilitation Practices for Degraded Coal Mines under Different Agro-climatic Zones

  • Number of Posts: 05
  • Emoluments: ₹24,000/- per month + Allowances (if admissible)
  • Project Duration: 2024–2029
  • Essential Qualifications: Candidates should hold a 1st class M.Sc. in Agriculture (Soil Science Specialization), Forestry, Life Science, or Environmental Science with knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS.
  • Project Overview: This project focuses on developing and standardizing eco-rehabilitation practices for degraded coal mine areas in different agro-climatic zones across India. It aims to create sustainable, long-term solutions for rehabilitating these areas through scientific and research-based interventions.

General Terms and Conditions

Age Limit:

The upper age limit for Junior Project Fellow (JPF) and Field Assistant (FA) positions is 28 years as of 1st June 2024.
Age relaxation is available for candidates from SC/ST, OBC, Women, and Physically Handicapped categories by up to 5 years.

Selection Process for ICFRE Recruitment 2024:

The selection will be made based on walk-in interviews. The selected candidates will be appointed temporarily for the duration of the project.
The projects will be governed by the rules of ICFRE.

Documents Required for Interview:

Candidates appearing for the interview must bring the following documents:

  • Duly signed bio-data
  • Recent passport-sized colored photograph
  • Original documents and attested copies of all academic certificates and relevant documents (including caste certificates for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
  • Educational qualification certificates, including 10th class onwards.

No TA/DA:

No travel or dearness allowance will be provided to candidates for attending the interview.
